School Supplies

Just received an e-mail from a new 6th grade parent asking about school supplies. Here was my reply....hopefully it will help you was you prepare for the upcoming school year. As far as school supplies...it's pretty basic with a couple exceptions. Far and away the number one problem we have at middle school revolves around organization. We have a school wide color/class folder system that we use. Math is Green, ELA is Yellow, Social Studies is Blue and Science is Red. Purchasing some colored folders with pockets to help your student stay organized would be a step in the right direction....and....please, please, please stay away from the "Trapper Keeper" type binders. They tend to be a black hole for assignments. Other than that, colored pencils, lined paper, glue sticks, highlighters, a scientific calculator, #2 pencils, a few pens, a ruler are the normal supplies.....Bringing a box of Kleenex to donate to the cause is also appreciated (we go through Kleenex at an amazing rate)
