Science Olympiad This Weekend

Our SCMS Science Olympiad Team is competing this weekend at Macomb Community College. If you've never been to one, it's a interesting and impressive show. The kids are spread out, with each group preforming a different activity. If you have some free time, it's well worth the drive.

Best of luck Saints...

Snow Day/ Saturday School

For those of you that are sitting on the edge of your seat.....Saturday School is still a go despite the snow day. The one out you have, since you didn't have the opportunity to turn in your missing assignments on Friday, is if you turn them all in Monday morning then missing Saturday School won't count against you.

Rumors....Ahhhhhh!!!!!

A rumor is going around that SCMS was on Lockdown today because a student threatened to commit suicide. We are not and have not been on Lockdown. What did happen was a young special needs boy said a few inappropriate remarks in front of some other students. His parents we called, the situation was explained to them and the student is now home. At no time was anyone injured or in danger.

East China School District Supporters

Need some help and support. Our Endowment Fund for the past two years have hosted a fundraiser in August....which I realize is a long way down the road. Each year the Supporters group has provided many "extras" to every school in the district through a grant process. The fundraiser is a cruise on the St. Clair River aboard the Duc d'Orleans that leaves the River Crab @ 6:30 p.m. and returns at 9:30 p.m. The Rivertown Gents will be supplying the live music and hors d'oeuvres are prepared by the River Crab. All in all, it's a fun night with the proceeds going to a very worthy cause. Here is where the help comes in. Tickets are $50 per person. Even though the event is 5 months away, your support of this event would be greatly appreciated. I have tickets if you're interested. Donations are also appreciated.

SCMS Blood Drive

Hats off to our NJHS and their advisor Mrs. Walton for organizing our Blood Drive. As you can imagine, running a Blood Drive at a location that the majority of people can't contribute (our students) is challenging to say the least. All in all it was a very successful event for a very worthy cause. Thanks to everyone that donated and/or helped out.

Freshman Orientation

St. Clair High School will hold a high school orientation meeting on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 for parents of incoming freshman for the 2011-12 school year. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM in the SCHS Cafeteria.
